All Roads Lead to Fairport
Thulio arrives at the docks. Finds a strange priest preaching wildly (and oddly) to an audience before him about Martel, goddess of Light. Not the holiest of men, he keeps making sexist remarks. Thulio confronts him on a number of theological questions, and generally manages to annoy him, leaving later, not before promising to visit the temple of the goddess. Asks someone where he could stay, is pointed towards the inn (The Boar's Breath).
Brulus goes to the docks. Tries to find work on a few ships, is turned down due to his strange looks and lack of experience. Meets a girl (Lydia) with a puppy (Iaru), trapped under a crate. Rescues it, heals it, is invited to stay overnight at the inn by her parents.
Rupert arrives at the docks, asks around for transportation and accommodation. A shady character promises to find him a ship after some bartering, and recommends him to stay overnight at the inn, and meet him again the following day.
Scene shifts to the inn. Rupert is drinking at a table in the corner, and is joined by Thulio, much to his displeasure. After these two barely chat for a bit, Brulus storms out of the kitchen, running after his pet toad, which is flying through the air after having been thrown away by the cook, screaming at the sight of it. Brulus clumsily knocks down a few tables, including Thulio and Rupert's, and is forced to retrieve the toad from another patron's soup. After convincing the waitresses to bring him more drinks (and really stretching the bounds of their hospitality), he is sort of welcome to the table. The conversation goes on, with Rupert mumbling through it, even when asked for his name, at which time the other characters can only make "Absahma" out of what he said. That's how they start addressing him.
As they're sitting at the table, a band of ruffians storms in and threatens the innkeeper and wife for not paying their "protection fee". Before anyone is able to do anything, they kidnap the couple's daughter.
Brulus manages to capture one of the bandits and forces him to spill his guts. During all this, they meet a suspicious elf, Theladios, who was sitting at another table, and seems interested in the prospect of making a profit, by keeping whatever he finds at the bandits' hideout.
The group, including Theladios, head towards the bandits' hideout. After some athletic climbing, they sneak in and eliminate everyone - the last one is killed by Theladios, with a magic spell, which surprises the party, particularly Brulus. They rescue the girl and loot the place, with Theladios and Rupert arguing bitterly on how to split the money.
