He comes from a long family line of pirates. Pirate Captains actually.
He had been sailing "the sea" for years until that cursed day when he, after having been lured into a trap, and his beautiful ship and his faithful crew... well, something happened to them and he is not really keen on talking about it. Actually, he might wave his pistol about in your face if you ask too many questions.
For the last ten years or so he has been hiding away on some unnamed island. Now and then, he's set out to roam and look for the remaining members of his crew, his treasures, and... well... secrets! His life like this has been decent enough. He's had enough friends and riches to keep him alive and fairly comfortable. Perhaps too comfortable sometimes. He's gained a considerable amount of weight thanks to the nice food and drinks in his private place and numerous taverns and feasts. But that was alright. He still tries to keep in shape...
For being a defeated, wanted, but retired pirate captain with a grudge, life has been good. He just had to call in a favour or two too many for his liking.
